What is an Adventure anyway?

What is an adventure anyway?  Pulling out my iPhone I asked the very credible Siri what the definition of adventure actually was.  It took less than five seconds and I was given three very credible, very interesting answers.

The definitions given from WolframAlpha's database described the word as a noun and also gave two separate definitions of adventure as a verb.  Here is what came up.

Adventure (noun) - a wild and exciting undertaking (not necessarily lawful)
(verb1) - take a risk in the hope of a favorable outcome
                  (verb2) - put at risk
Interesting.

When I think of adventure I think of great heroes and underdogs who, faced with adversity save the day over and over again, and yes...I may think of a few J.K Rowling or Terry Goodkind books.  The word adventure brings me thoughts of castles and medieval times and basically anything Indiana Jones.

Most of all, the word adventure makes me think of life.  In life you have only one span of 80 or so years to make a difference, you grow and learn and experience many things that make you who you are and shape your values, personality and faith.

I hope with this blog I can take you all on some really neat adventures. Whether its in the kitchen, at the supermarket, or just in experiences of learning and growing as a woman, wife , family member and Registered Dietitian, I hope you enjoy the ride.

Have a Healthy Day,

Erin O.

Oh, and if you happen to have any adventurous questions about nutrition or ideas that you would like to have written about here, shoot me a message and I can hopefully get to the task.
